Video Art Miden screenings at Festivart 26 [in transit] in Loutraki (GR)

Video Art Miden participates with a video art showcase in this year’s edition of Festivart [in transit] which will take place in Loutraki (GR) and most specifically at the Beau Rivage building, 9-12 of July 2026.

Festivart 26 explores the concept of [in transit] as a constant state of transition that characterizes the contemporary world. From the philosophy of Heraclitus (“everything flows” – panta rhei) to Bauman’s “liquid modernity”, human existence is understood not as something fixed, but as a constant movement and transformation. The main exhibition of Festivart focuses on the work of young artists from Greece and abroad, creating an open space for meeting, exchange and contemporary artistic dialogue around this year’s theme [in transit]. Through painting, installations, photography, video and mixed practices, the participating artists explore the concept of transition as a personal, social and cultural experience. The works move between memory and movement, physical and digital reality, the fluidity of identity and the constant changes of the contemporary world.

This year, Festivart collaborates with many academic institutions and art organizations from Greece and Europe: Video Art Miden, MAMA Contemporary (Cyprus), the Faculty of Arts and Sciences of Linköping University, the Department of Fine Arts at the Cyprus University of Technology, the School of Visual & Applied Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, FOCUS School of Photography & New Media, as well as the art school LAB2ART which organizes Festivart.

Transforms in mysterious ways

How is human experience, memory and being transformed through contemporary digital tools and their infinite branching pathways across virtual highways? Is there an “actual” and a “virtual” reality, or are these simply different aspects of the same universal continuum—an imaginary space whose subtle connections shape the flows of individual and collective memory, imagination, and perception?

The works presented in this screening program make use of algorithmic tools and artificial intelligence for digital intervention on the image, distorting and transforming reality, diving into a kind of digital collective unconscious in an endless search for a primordial truth of existence.
